A Delhi woman’s Rapido ride to her office turned into a major nightmare– after the scooty driver allegedly not only began to take her to an unfamiliar and isolated route– but also allegedly refused to stop the vehicle despite the passenger repeatedly asking for the same. Taking to her social media handle, the woman recalled the entire incident. Allegedly, the woman- Ayesha Srivastav- had booked a Rapido to her office. In the middle of the ride, the driver allegedly began to take her to an unfamiliar route that also looked quite unused.

Allegedly, the driver cited that the said route was a “direct way to Vishwavidyalaya”; however, suspicious of the man’s intentions, the woman asked him to either change the route or stop the vehicle. The driver, however, despite her repeated requests, refused to stop. Ultimately, the woman resorted to hitting the man, which hardly helped her. In the end, the woman had to jump from the moving scooter to ensure her safety.

Naturally, the woman was left injured, resulting in her visiting a hospital for her treatment. Apart from the incident itself, what was further disappointing was the response by Rapido’s customer care. Srivastav claimed that the customer care was of no help. In her video, the irked woman then demanded Rapido for the driver’s details.

As the incident went viral, it also got a response from Rapido: “Hi Ayesha, we sincerely understand your concern regarding the reported safety issue and the seriousness of the matter. At Rapido, customer safety and respect are our top priorities, and we do not tolerate any inappropriate behaviour or misconduct from captains.”

“We are reviewing the concern on priority and will take appropriate action against the concerned captain based on the investigation findings. Kindly share your registered mobile number and Ride ID via DM so that we can check the details, assist you further, and ensure the concern is addressed appropriately,” the response further read.
