Lokesh Kanagaraj’s latest outing DC continues to win attention even as Suriya’s Vishwanath And Sons dominates the box office conversation. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the action film has emerged as one of the notable Tamil releases of the year, earning praise for its performances, technical execution and music. After receiving appreciation from filmmaker Shankar, the film has now caught the attention of Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. The actor took to social media to share his thoughts on the film, calling it ‘original’ and ‘outstanding’. His post also got a response from composer Anirudh Ravichander, who thanked the superstar for his kind words.

Mahesh Babu recently watched DC and was impressed by the film. Sharing his reaction on social media, the superstar wrote, “#DC… what an original and outstanding film. Just too cool… Loved every bit of it!! Congrats to the entire team…” His praise was acknowledged by Anirudh Ravichander, who composed the film’s music. Responding to Mahesh Babu’s post, Anirudh wrote, “Thank you so much sir.”

Mahesh Babu’s appreciation comes as DC continues to perform strongly in theatres. The film has reportedly recovered its production cost during its theatrical run and secured a hit verdict before the completion of its second weekend. The film was reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 25 crore. After nine days, it had earned Rs 50.26 crore net in India, emerging as a profitable venture for its makers.

Before Mahesh Babu, filmmaker Shankar had also expressed his appreciation for DC. He praised Arun Matheswaran’s approach to the crime genre and mentioning the film’s cinematography and art direction. Shankar also complimented Lokesh Kanagaraj’s screen presence, while praising Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanjana AK and the rest of the cast for their performances. He reserved particular praise for Anirudh’s music, describing it as an ‘absolutely mindblowing’ contribution to the film.

Directed by Arun Matheswaran, DC stars Lokesh Kanagaraj in the lead role alongside Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana AK. The film is inspired by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Devdas and reimagines its central characters against a Tamil Nadu backdrop where violence and justice are closely intertwined. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, DC marks Arun Matheswaran’s fourth directorial venture after Rocky, Saani Kaayidham and Captain Miller. The technical crew includes cinematographer Mukesh G, editor GK Prasanna and stunt choreographer PC Stunts, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music.
