What Happened To Gold Prices In The Previous Session?

The international market also recorded an increase, with spot gold advancing 0.48 per cent to $4,397.59 per ounce.

Globally, gold futures rose 0.40 per cent to $4,394.01 per ounce in New York. The rise was attributed to fresh positions being created by traders amid firm spot demand.
What Are Experts Saying About Gold Prices?
According to news agency PTI, Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst (Commodities) at HDFC Securities, said that gold rose on Monday. He attributed the gains to a weaker dollar and lower expectations of tighter Federal Reserve monetary policy following softer US economic indicators.
He noted that moderate US inflation data released last week, along with weaker employment and retail sales figures, reduced expectations of further monetary policy tightening. The resulting pressure on the dollar supported demand for precious metals.
Praveen Singh, head of commodities at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, said spot gold was trading 0.5 per cent higher at $4,398 an ounce and could remain supported by dollar weakness and range-bound oil prices. He added that geopolitical developments were also being monitored, including US President Donald Trump’s plans for additional economic sanctions on Iran.
Jatin Trivedi, Vice President, Research Analyst (Commodities & Currencies), LKP Securities, said investors would watch the minutes of the Federal Reserve’s FOMC meeting due this week. The minutes could offer fresh signals on the US central bank’s interest-rate outlook and provide direction to bullion prices.
