Delhi Weather Today: Moderate Rain Likely After Mercury Hits 35 Deg C, Temperature To Dip Slightly

Delhi is anticipated to experience a cloudy sky accompanied by moderate rainfall on Thursday, following a day of above-normal temperatures.

Delhi is set to see a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain on Thursday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, a day after the city recorded above-normal temperatures.
The maximum temperature on Wednesday settled at 35.4 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung. Light rain in parts of the city had brought brief relief from the humid conditions through the day.
According to IMD data, Palam recorded a maximum of 35.6 degrees Celsius, 1.1 degree above normal. Lodhi Road and the Ridge logged 35 degrees Celsius each, while Ayanagar recorded 35 degrees Celsius, 0.9 degree above normal.
Some rain was also recorded on Wednesday, Palam logged 0.4 mm in the 24 hours ending 8.30 am, while Ayanagar recorded 0.2 mm between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm.
Humidity levels stood at 78 per cent in the morning and 65 per cent in the evening. The minimum temperature was 27.4 degrees Celsius, 0.9 degree above normal, with Palam recording a low of 25.5 degrees Celsius, Lodhi Road 27 degrees Celsius, the Ridge 22.8 degrees Celsius, and Ayanagar 26.7 degrees Celsius.
The city’s air quality remained in the “moderate” category, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 110 in the evening, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
For Thursday, the IMD has forecast a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels between 60 and 80 per cent. The sky will remain generally cloudy with moderate rain through the day. No weather warning has been issued.
The IMD has predicted light rain or drizzle for Delhi on Friday and Saturday (August 21-22), with temperatures hovering between 32-33°C and 25-26°C. Cloudy conditions with rain are expected to continue till August 23, before skies turn partly cloudy by August 25, when the maximum could touch 35 degrees Celsius again.
