Ravindra Jadeja created history and entered a rare list of cricketers after dismissing Keshara Nuwantha to take his second wicket of the day in the first Test between India and Sri Lanka on Monday (August 17) during the third day of play in what is the first innings of the hosts. The star all-rounder completed 350 wickets in the longest format of the game after also dismissing Sri Lankan captain Dhananjay de Silva earlier in the day.
Playing his 90th match in Test cricket for India since his debut in 2012, the 37-year-old also has over 4000 runs to his name. He had completed the incredible milestone with the bat during the team’s home series defeat to South Africa earlier this year.

Jadeja has become only the fourth cricketer in history and the second Indian after the former Indian captain Kapil. to complete the rare double of 4000 runs and 350 wickets. The legendary all-rounder is only the second spinner to be part of the elite list alongside Daniel Vettori.

Meanwhile, Jadeja is only the third left-arm spin bowler in history in world cricket (and the first Indian) to take over 350 wickets in the longest format of the game. He joins Sri Lanka’s Rangana Herath and Vettori in the elusive list.

Meanwhile, Jadeja also became only the fifth Indian bowler in history and fourth spinner to take over 350 wickets in the longest format of the game. He joins a list of cricketing legends in the elite list as he continues to prove his worth as one of the best cricketers to play Test cricket for the country.
