Govinda and Sunita Ahuja are back in the news, and this time it comes with a twist. After months of divorce buzz and public back and forth between the couple, Sunita has now withdrawn the divorce case she had filed against Govinda. The actor’s manager, Shashi Sinha, confirmed the update to several media outlets on August 19, 2026. Sunita was also spotted outside a family court in Mumbai’s Bandra earlier that day, accompanied by their son Yashvardhan Ahuja. When paparazzi asked her why she was there, she brushed it off with her usual wit, saying she had come to celebrate her birthday. Sinha, meanwhile, said the family did not want their personal matters to keep turning into public news.

Sunita had filed the divorce case amid months of talk about trouble in their marriage, and the couple has been married since March 11, 1987. They have two children, daughter Tina Ahuja and son Yashvardhan. Through all the ups and downs, this latest development suggests things may be settling down between the two, at least for now. And through it all, one thing has remained constant: their long-time home in Juhu, Mumbai, where the family has lived for decades.

Jal Darshan: A Sea-Facing Bungalow in Juhu

Govinda’s main home is a two-storeyed mansion called Jal Darshan, which is located on Gandhi Gram Road near Ruhiya Park in Juhu, right by the beach. It is valued at around Rs 16 crore. Juhu is one of Mumbai’s priciest and most sought-after neighbourhoods, which is also home to several film stars. Property prices in the area have gone up by roughly 10 to 15% over the last five years, and per-square-foot rates for premium sea-facing plots can easily cross Rs 60,000. This means that the actual worth of the house today could be higher than its base valuation.

The bungalow offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea and the sea breeze flows right through the interiors. Most of the windows in the house face the sea, keeping the place cool and airy and several balconies open out to well-kept green gardens. The interior style is described as a mix of English-style elegance with traditional Vastu principles.

So, What’s Inside The House?

Step past the entrance and you are in a large, open area meant for gatherings, which fits well with Govinda’s reputation as someone who loves hosting people. The drawing room has comfortable, stylish seating, and the floors throughout the house are covered in marble that gives off a smooth, glossy shine. The drawing room also features an expensive wooden divan that adds to the grandeur of the space.

The kitchen sits centrally in the house and is modular, which blends practicality with good looks. The bedrooms are done up thoughtfully, each with handpicked art and pictures on the walls, and every one of them opens onto a balcony overlooking Juhu Beach.

Govinda’s personality shows up in unexpected corners of the house too. Given his famous love for colourful, unique outfits, the house even has a separate room just for storing his clothes and accessories, including his collection of shoes, watches, ties, and sunglasses. The walls elsewhere in the house function almost like a private gallery, filled with paintings, photographs, and sculptures collected over the years.

Spirituality has its own place in the home as well. There is a dedicated pooja room with a large statue of Lord Ganesha, where prayer meetings and other religious practices take place, a quiet contrast to the bright, larger-than-life image Govinda is known for on screen.

Up top, the terrace gives a wide view of the city, adding one more spot in the house to take in Mumbai’s skyline alongside the sea. Jal Darshan is not just a residence for the actor and his family. After nearly four decades of marriage and a fair share of public ups and downs, it remains the constant backdrop to the Ahuja family’s story, a home that has quietly stood by them through it all.
